      I applied through a recruiter.
      The process took 1+ week.

      Interview

Round 1 was the typical HR phone interview. It was fine. It appeared to be for a new pricing team so they were not sure of the exact role/title I was interviewing for. Round 2 was supposed to be a phone interview with an analyst on the team. I was told A would interview me. Got a call from B instead, with no apology or background as to why he was doing the interview as opposed to A. Asked about my current job only. Despite me making it clear that my current job doesn’t require me to use all the skills Wayfair wants. But I have used those skills in prior jobs and have studied them in graduate school. This person was clearly in a rush and was interested not in the analytic process but in how many “lines” of data I dealt with. At the end he was like, okay so I have to go to a meeting. Thanks. And that was it. No questions about any of my prior experiences or degree. And no opportunity to ask them any questions at all. Got an email from HR as expected talking about how I didn’t have the skills needed. HR also did not appear to be aware that I had spoken to someone else, not the person they told me about. Started the call with, thanks for speaking to A! Overall, bad experience. To be honest, I had only heard bad things about this company but thought I’d give it a shot. Bad call, I guess.
