I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (Central Valley, NY) in Oct 2014
Interview
I applied online and got a call a couple days later. I read a lot of the interviews here before I went in so I was already prepared. It is very important to show up early! I also was nervous because I read that it was group interviews and you had to act. However, I was with one other person and we did not act or read from a book. Most likely because where I am working there aren't many kids. If you have any last minute changes you will be just fine because she asked for my availability and I was able to add more hours. It is also important to know what's trendy in disney now. The interview last a little under an hour because she had to ask two people the same questions. I was not asked any questions that I did not have an answer to. Try to be a little more outgoing and assertive than the rest of the group. That's what I did and the interviewer trended to lean more towards me. She asked me the questions first which was better for me bc then it would not sound like I was just saying what the other person was saying. A cast memeber actually approached me and told me what to expect which was very nice of him. Try not to use the cliche of how much you live disney. Everybody loves disney and they really don't care for that as an answer to why you want to work there. I was also told that after the season ends it is likely that they will keep me. As long as I was doing a good job.
Brief, engaging, and very relaxed. The former manager was so easy to talk to. She definitely made me so excited to work at the store, and it was so sad when she left.

Interview
As soon as I got there I was told to go to the side so I don’t bump into anyone (social distance basically). I had no problem waiting outside, I also didn’t want to be in the way. As soon as I go inside the guy tells me I “looked quiet”. First of all I understand this job requires communication but when I’m told to wait and keep my distance with no one around, who was I supposed to talk to, the window? I really didn’t like that and I had to explain that yes I was quiet but because there’s no one to talk to. Then the guy first asks about my availability and I had full availability, but he refused and said my availability wasn’t ideal for the position. Then he asked about my previous job and cut me off. That’s it. I went online a day before to see what type of questions they ask and prepared my answers for the common ones, but all he asked was my availability. A waste of time. I highly disliked that he didn’t proceed to ask questions about me and also jumped to assumptions based on my behavior. Don’t think of ever going there again, I used to be a regular customer. I got hired at another place for the same type of position, which asked for about the same qualities.
