I applied online. I interviewed at The Option Institute (Sheffield, MA) in Oct 2017
Interview
I was asked to come to Option after a great, one hour phone screen with the HR rep. The email, which had the details of time an place, also stated that the meeting would also consist of the person in charge of the Administrator. So, me and two of them. Sounds great! Right?
One hour plus drive from NY to Option and the 3rd person was there... via Skype. Person, for reasons unknown, did not leave their office to meet me and the HR rep. The connection was terrible. Ever watch an old foreign movie in which the sound was there but the lips were not moving? That was the person on Skype asking me technical questions and asking me how'd I'd handle certain situations. I had a difficult time hearing what was said as the speakers on the laptop were not great. I gave it my best with the tools used during the interview.
My advice: Hiding behind a screen doesn't show well in a business that is built person to person. If you're looking to present the company well, show up in person and give your best. I did.
Sorry you did not feel this interview worked well for you. We inform candidates in advance when a supervisor works remotely from another state and will be interviewing on Skype. We wish you all the best in your employment endeavors.
