Submitted writing samples along with a behavioral interview (conducted in-person). Heard some have been asked to do trial articles. Wasn’t too difficult, but took a long time to hear back.

Pretty casual, and the interviewer was kind and upbeat. Be prepared to talk about yourself, your past experiences, and why you want to join the department. I was also asked a more creative/fun question as well.

Asked all the basic questions, pretty easy. Be prepared by reading some weekender articles beforehand to get a sense of what type of content they want, also be prepared to remember an article or two that you like. Also talk about your epxerience with writing and have some pitches ready. Be friendly and nice and don't have a snooty writer type persona. The department has chill vibes.
