An hour and a half Zoom call. She talked about her work at the center, and how she felt about her role. I talked about my work experience. During the interview, she changed the job title and role. She invited me to the center for a formal interview, and also invited me to hold workshops in my area of knowledge. After the interview, I contacted her back according to the timeline she established, but I didn’t hear back from her again until I suggested that ghosting an interviewee wasn’t in the spirit of the center. She emailed to let me know that, yes, the job position had changed. Although she stated she regretted how she communicated with me, it was three months of my personal time, and the assumption that I would have another interview. I had talked to family and friends about this job opportunity. In the end, it was the worst job interview experience of my life due to the lack of transparency. A two-minute email to offer truthful information about the job status after a personal invitation is a reasonable expectation.
