I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Temple Beth El (Tacoma, WA) in Nov 2022
Interview
Conversational and positive interview experience in a small office environment. After the interview, completed a short grammar test, as well as an instructional test using their office software. Very pleasant experience!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Are you willing to learn more about Judaism and Jewish life as part of this role?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Temple Beth El (Northbrook, IL) in Oct 2021
Interview
Zoom interview; was not initially informed that it would be group-based and/or who I would have been interviewing with - first red-flag.
The questions were mostly at firing-squad pace and had absolutely nothing to do with my experience or aptitudes, but rather to see if there was a cultural 'fit.'
**2 largest take-aways (eye-openers)**:
1. Highly unnerved when told: "Oh, we weren't able to find you on social media." Not only is this an invasion of privacy, but was not prior asked, NOR a prerequisite from the application process.
2. My potential supervisor decided it was best to conduct their portion of the interview from their car. I understand that there are sometimes limitations, but a re-schedule would have suitable for sake of professionalism. To me, it suggests that they were more than disinterested in both the process and my candidacy, but also the flipping camera on/off was highly distracting and annoying to my concentration.
Overall, the experience was not pleasant. When I asked for next steps I got rather mumbled, unclear answer for target start date , which left me less than confident. I also didn't like being dismissed when I asked for feedback after being given a decision in less than a week, post-interview, from a flippant email notification.
Why even bother?

Question 1
How do you handle dealing with those in an organization that may have conflict?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Temple Beth El
Interview
I met with the director and the president and was asked about previous experience, organization skills, security awareness and concerns, being discreet, computer skills, staff management, and more. It was professional, but more relaxed than some other interviews.
