I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Sunglass Hut (Montgomeryville, PA) in Feb 2014
Interview
The process started with a walk-in application. After handing it to the store manager I received a phone call a few hours later and set up a time to come in and sit down with the regional manager. It was a basic job interview that we've all gone through. It went well and he said I made it through to the next phase of the hiring process. We set up a day for me to come in for a couple hours for a "test run." That meant I would come into the store and the store manager would show me the ropes and I would work as an associate while he observed me. After an hour or so the store manager told me that he really liked me and would love to have me work at the store. He put me on the schedule to work part time that week. He scheduled me about three days out because that's how long it takes for the background check to come back. So I came in the day I was scheduled and I was told my background check hadn't completed yet. Another week of this passed by and the manager kept scheduling and rescheduling me. Eventually I got a letter in the mail from Luxottica telling me my offer if employment was rescinded. It also said that the background check had nothing to do with it. Yeah, right.
Asked about experience, situational questions (was there ever a time where), if I'm interested in fashion, and register skills. Then the second in person part was role playing approaching a customer, giving advice, and testing a little knowledge about sunglasses like shapes and color theory.

It really depends on your manager as there’s no specific set guidelines. Generally easy questions and basic questions regarding sales. I’ve helped my manager come up with scenarios on top of some easy basic questions.
