Was approached by a recruter to discuss a position that was a fit for me according to my experience. While I wasn't very motivated to move to LA, I gave a try to see the interview. Phone interview was supposed to be casual 10 minutes with recruter. Ended up being more than 30 minutes. I had aced all the interview until the end: the recruter asked I had more time for quick mechanical engineering questions but I had an appointment coming up. I hesitated for a few seconds but accepted to do it. He said he would rather wait that I have time to think about the questions than rush me. He then explained what were the next steps and that I was going to receive (by the end of the day) a homework to do and return. The email never showed up. I also did not try to contact back since I was not interested in the work life balance there. But it made me understand clearly that they want people who believe in "working at spaceX is the number priority of your life". The mission is awesome, but the salary and work/life balance are not adequate.
