Interview

Cleared the phone interview with HR. The experience was pleasant.

However, the in-person interviewer was Rude, disrespectful. If the interviewer has already decided that I am not the right candidate before the interview, why bother to schedule one at the first place. Screen your candidates before scheduling a meeting, you don't have to interview every person that HR recommended to you.
When meeting a candidate, show some respect. At least keep it professional, don’t act like the candidate is wasting your time. I took time off to meet you in the middle of the day. You are wasting my precious time. Show some basic respect.

This is the worst interview experience I have ever had. I have to share my awful experience here to warn my fellow candidates.
When the interviewer, who is in charge of all RELATIONSHIP Managers, gives zero effort and no respect to the people who want to work for your company, it says a lot about this firm.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Shareworks by Morgan Stanley (Calgary, AB (Canada)).

    Interview

Started with a phone screen from a member of HR then proceeded to have two in person interviews with different groups of individuals. A few weeks after the interviews, there was a phone call with a verbal offer, and proceeded by a reference check.

    Interview

The interview stands out in my employment history as the manager interviewing me was noticeably brash and almost rude. I had a phone call with HR first, which was pleasant and green lights all around - then came in for the in-person interview with one person from HR, and the manager I would be reporting to. The interview took a turn almost immediately when the manager took over from HR and I was proceeded to be slammed with questions in what I can only describe as rude or mean. Half-way through, I wondered what the point was when the manager obviously decided from the get-go I was not the candidate he wanted, why drag this out? I was a bit stunned by the whole thing, as I was a fit for the role and HR had cleared me for an interview, so why the treatment when we hadn't even gotten started? HR stayed quiet throughout the entire interview. When I left, all I could think was that I was glad I had met the reporting manager as I wouldn't want to work for someone like that. The management style echoes some of the reviews of upper management seen here by employees on GlassDoor. Yikes. Will never apply to Solium again after this experience, regardless of the manager.
