I interviewed at Robert A.M. Stern Architects (New York, NY)
Interview
Easy process, spoke with some current employees and everyone was very kind. I zoomed with someone who would become my supervisor during the internship process. They explained a lot of what the internship would look like and it felt like both of us were gauging if this was a good fit! Really kind and respectful people.

Interview
had a great experience interviewing right out of school. The team kept the conversation casual and approachable, which helped ease my nerves. I really appreciated that they asked thoughtful, direct questions about my design process—not just production tasks. It made me feel like they valued my ideas and potential, not just technical execution. The overall tone was encouraging and respectful throughout.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked insightful questions focused on my design process rather than just production tasks. I was asked to walk through specific projects—explaining the tools I used, the steps I took, and how I made decisions along the way. They also included narrative-style questions that encouraged me to reflect on how I approach design challenges, collaborate with others, and think critically. It was clear they were interested in how I think, not just what I’ve done.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Robert A.M. Stern Architects (New York, NY) in Apr 2022
