      Interview

This was my second time interviewing with this company—I interviewed a few years ago but was turned down due to salary expectations. I was surprised to be contacted again after reapplying, but unfortunately, the experience this time was just as disappointing, if not worse. The process started with an automated email from HR asking me to complete a one-way video interview. I’m not a fan of these formats, but I completed it anyway. To my surprise, I was then scheduled for a live interview with both the Director and VP. However, the interview turned into an impromptu phone call because both individuals were apparently traveling to meet a client. I only ended up speaking with the VP, who conducted the call while driving—yes, driving. I even offered to reschedule out of courtesy, but he insisted on going through with it. The conversation was superficial, lacked structure, and told me very little about the role or the company itself. It felt rushed and unprofessional. The job was listed as full-time, but during the call, the VP mentioned they primarily work with contractors. That was a red flag. Then came the salary question—the same issue from years ago. The range they posted was already on the lower side, but I selected a figure in the middle. Even that seemed to be too high for them. Overall, the process felt cold, disorganized, and dismissive. If the team couldn’t give a proper, focused interview—especially for a second-round candidate—an email to reschedule would have shown more professionalism and respect. Based on both of my experiences, I won’t be applying here again. This company doesn't seem to value candidates' time, and the way they conduct interviews reflects poorly on their internal culture.
