I applied through their portal and was called in for initial screening and then moved on to meeting the hiring manager. Did not move forward from there. Asked for feedback and got no response in return
Screening call with hiring manager. Interviewer read from a list of questions. It felt very corporate-like and it was hard to connect with the interviewer. For a non-profit that works with high schoolers and college students they were surprisingly dull.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at QuestBridge
Interview
I was deeply disappointed with the process. I applied one month and was invited to an initial phone screen a few weeks later. The phone screen felt promising and approximately two weeks after that I was invited to a Zoom interview with the hiring manager. After a successful (it felt) interview I was told I would hear about next steps within two weeks. Unfortunately, they ghosted me for lack of a better word. After two interviews and multiple emails from me checking in about my status I believe that professional courtesy would allow me to have heard back from them, even for a rejection.
I have worked in this field for nearly a decade and have interacted with this organization in my previous work and did not realize that ghosting candidates was part of how they moved. I realize that an employer is juggling a lot during the interview process, but I do believe that seeing candidates as people with timelines that matter as well is important. I would have expected more professionalism.
