      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Pluralsight

      Interview

The interview process had a lot of questions that were unrelated to the role and were related to their business interests. what forums, blogs, resources do you use to learn security? What do your peers use? This was a red flag. Didn't proceed.

      Security Engineer Interview

      18 Nov 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pluralsight

      Interview

Overall pretty standard interview process. They make you take an aptitude test and then go through a few rounds of interview. I get the impression that they interview a large amount of candidates based on some clues I heard from throughout the process. Ultimately I think I didn’t make it because I just had a bad interview. I decided to go through the process while I was traveling and it really was difficult for me to be my best self for multiple hour long calls.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Basic behavior based questions. Nothing too specific.

The interview followed the standard format: intake call, meeting with the manager, meeting with the team, meeting with the directors. It also included the standard mix of technical and behavioral questions. The interviewers were candid about the strengths and weaknesses and gave an overall look into what a day was like in the current role. Overall, it was a positive experience.
