Submitted resume on line and was contacted by HR about 3 weeks later for in person interview. The site visit was out of town for me so I made arrangements to be at the site to meet the staff early in the day. When the hiring manager learned that I was from out of town, offered to stop the interview before it start because there was no relocation, even though I had made a considerable effort to get to the interview. I found this very disrespectful of the effort I had already invested. I asked to continue the interview given the effort I had already invested - didn't want to exclude the opportunity due to this one aspect - thought that the hiring manager should be looking for the right fit for the department as well. But the hiring manager, surprisingly, was not experienced in the highly technical field they were leading. The site was hiring the position even though the position could be downsized in the 2.5 few years. Really surprised that Pfizer couldn't do better. Really negative experience for a leader in the industry.
