Initially the process was structured and the communication was good. Had an HR phone screening, video interview and finally an on site interview. The onsite is where things were odd. The interviewing manager showed up a bit late (~10 mins) not everyone on the panel were aware of the schedule. They did ask good questions related to the role and my own personal experience. Offered to tour around the labs but not coordinated well as we went over time already and the tour was not planned in the schedule. Did a tour of the lab and it felt like a bit of a lazy walk through not much enthusiasm from the interviewer and felt like a red flag. Following the on site was waiting and no correspondence for 3 weeks. Emailed the initial HR who phone screened me for the role and no response. Emailed a second time and then a far quicker response saying they moved onto another candidate. It was all odd in that all interviews seem to go well with upper management telling me more about the company and opportunities then suddenly silence from HR with no details on timelines. Not from the area and they covered travel which with the money they invested to do the onsite would at least communicate more clearly. Feels like they just did it to maybe fill a quota for interviewing a specific number of people. First 3/4 great but the last 1/4 of the process landing was rough and not very professional of a large company.
