Initial call with internal recruiter after few emails back and forward re salary expectation, experience etc. He went through various aspects of the role but when I got to asking my questions the alarm bells started ringing!
What does the company culture look like? 'Well some of us go to the pub after work and it's a good bunch of people'. Nothing about leadership, values, giving back, living the brand etc. and nothing mentioned at all on their website - almost as if it's a dirty word!
Sales process: Recruiter discussed how they are on a mission to scale...but there's no CRM and inferred it's not on their plan. Basic, essential tools required for a sales organisation (to which I was told NSC very much is) but they won't invest as an IT company.
What is the salary and expectations for this role? Bearing in mind they emailed beforehand asking for my salary expectation, response I received during call was £25k lower than expectations.
Was explained that company owner is all over the sales team (to the point of micro managing/high pressure tactics??) and whilst the company is well established and has lofty goals which is fair enough, I got the impression won't spend money (see above re CRM!) to get there and penny pinches.
