I used a recruiter to get my phone interview. After the phone interview, I was invited to Redmond for on-site interviews. The on-site interviews were with 4 team members including the director and a final "bar-raiser" which was performed over the phone a week after my interviews. The interviews were more business like and asked many behavioral type questions. I had to talk about my past experiences and how I would fit in at Microsoft. Overall, the interview process was difficult but not impossible.
