I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at McDonald's (Pacifica, CA) in Aug 2011
Interview
You begin by submitting an online application where you include personal information, a small paragraph about yourself and an option to attach a resume at the end. After following up with 2 phone calls the first week, by the second I was asked to come in for a review. I sat down with the manager and he asked me general questions about myself and then asked what my skills are and why I thought the position I applied for(grill cook) was right for me. After that he told me I got the job.
The first day of "work" is training for 3 hours, where wages, schedule, and work outfit is discussed.
It was ok, they wanted to know about my calculus classes and if I knew Pi without googling it. They also wanted to know my undergrad GPA and if I planned to go to grad school, to which I answered, I've already been. They told me they were still interviewing other candidates and would get back to me.
Super chill, don't even worry about it. I enjoyed meeting everyone. It's McDonald's. If you have hands you will probably get the job. Don't worry about it. Don't go in with an attitude. You got this.
It was a very straightforward process done by the manager in the the store. It took 20 minutes and I was asked basic questions you would expect for your first job.
