I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Lumenalta (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2024
Interview
The process began when I came across the job posting while actively searching for opportunities that matched my skills and career goals. The position seemed like a great fit, aligning with my expertise in [specific field or skills relevant to the job]. Excited about the potential opportunity, I prepared my application, which included tailoring my resume to highlight relevant experiences and drafting a personalized cover letter addressing the job requirements.
I submitted my application through [the job portal or company website] on [specific date, if applicable]. Shortly after, I received an automated confirmation email acknowledging the receipt of my application. This gave me confidence that my submission had been successfully entered into their system.
Afterward, I monitored my email regularly and occasionally checked the application status on their portal (if available). I also reviewed additional materials about the company, including their values, projects, and team structure, to ensure I was well-prepared for any potential interview.
Unfortunately, after two days, I received a polite rejection email. It indicated that the company had decided to move forward with other candidates. While the email did not provide specific feedback, I appreciated their prompt communication, as it allowed me to refocus my efforts on other opportunities.
Although I was not invited to interview, the process was a learning experience. I took the opportunity to reflect on how I could further refine my applications, whether by emphasizing particular skills, gaining additional certifications, or expanding my professional network.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Since I was not invited to an interview for this particular role, I did not have the opportunity to engage in a formal question-and-answer process. However, based on my preparation and research about the position and the company, I anticipated potential interview questions that might focus on technical skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, etc.
For example, I expected questions such as:
"Can you walk us through a challenging project and how you approached its resolution?"
"How have you applied [specific skill or technology] in your previous roles?"
"What motivates you to work in [specific field] and why this company in particular?"
These are typical questions I prepared to address, reflecting on my relevant experiences and the contributions I could bring to the team. While I didn’t have the opportunity to answer these in person, my preparation for these topics has strengthened my ability to respond effectively in future interviews.

Interview
I applied online, was emailed shortly afterwards to say my compensation requirements were too high and would I be open to negotiating? I responded yes, I like the company and would be happy to negotiate over or a call or if they want to provide a range and I can also let them know that way. Few hours later, rejection email.
Very weird.
