Since I was applying when the store was just opening, the interview was open interview. The district manager was there interviewing anybody who stopped by. At the time, even though it said open interview, a couple of people called in beforehand to make appointments, which I felt gave them brownie points.
There were no online applications at the time, so I had to fill out one on the spot. It was basic information that you had to fill out about yourself (Name, references, etc.), along with a resume attached.
The interview process was pretty standard, but it's always nice to know something about the company itself (how it started, what are its values). The interviewer was friendly, and didn't rush you at all.
A few days later, I got called and was told I got the job.
