Interviewed via ZOOM with Chief Pilot and actual aircraft owner. Was very prepared for this interview and brought 25+ years of experience to the table; however. Neither the CP or the owner asked me ONE SINGLE QUESTION about myself or allowed me an occasion to speak during this interview? The entire interview consisted of thenCP “name dropping” to the owner about a recent flight with a couple NBA players, and the owner (himself a Pilot), made multiple threats like “ if I see one spec of dirt on my aircraft we’re going to have trouble” and “when I look up in that cockpit I’d better not see you and a copilot joking around or conversing during my flight or there’s going to be some issues with me!” As a professional corporate and charter pilot with multiple type ratings and experiences, it is insulting to be treated in such an unprofessional manner. Sounded exactly like an old boss I flew many years ago that was also demeaning to those that worked hard on his behalf. That too didn’t last very long and that owner was also a pilot who told me “I don’t need copilots when I fly.” This owner stated this during my interview? I though this had absolutely no merit since I was being interviewed for a light/mid Jet that requires two pilots and is not a single-pilot aircraft? The interview ABRUPTLY ended without even so much as “Thank you for your time and interest in this position.” I grew up in a time where people respected one another, but sadly, the younger generation of pilots (as the case with the Chief Pilot who interviewed me wearing a T-shirt and looked as if he just woke up from the night before). Advice to these people: Conduct yourself in a professional manner, dress the part, and respect those of us who have set aside our time and have put fourth a concerted effort to show up dressed for the event, and give us you undivided attention as we have done for you! You’ve done me a huge favor in showing me your weaknesses right out of the box. And to think I would have relocated for this? Thank God for unanswered prayers...
