I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at John Hancock (Boston, MA) in Mar 2011
Interview
Used a recruiter to obtain the job interview. Initial interview was over the telephone. It lasted about 90 minutes. A second interview was in person with the human resources department that was annoying because so much of the material was already on my resume. I did not like this part of the process at all. There was than a one on one interview with the woman who would have been my bosses boss. Next a group interview that seemed right out of some training manual. Finally, an interview with the gentleman that would have been my boss.
Easy interview for the most part, need to know what a wholesaler does. They had me present my idea of retirement in front of the managers as well, short presentation 3-5 minutes long
Short. Not very formal. Very few questions. Laid back. Wanted to know about what I was going to bring to the table in regards to leads, had me make a list of family and friends, the question was who would you invite to your wedding and make a list.
Thanks for sharing a review of your interview. As we constantly strive to improve and optimize the candidate experience, we would welcome the opportunity to learn more from you at TalentAcquisition@jhancock.com
