      Mechanical Engineer Interview

      11 Jan 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Invetech (San Diego, CA) in Oct 2020

      Interview

The people at Invetech seems to be very unprofessional. I didn’t really have a good experience and would probably advise others to reconsider applying. I was first contacted by HR about 3-4 weeks after applying, she didn't even bother to put my name in the email. Also, she never responded to any of my emails, she would only send me google invites/links to the interviews with zero communication or instructions. She would also schedule interviews outside of my availability that I provided. The first interview was a 30-minute phone call with HR. During the interview, she seemed very uninterested and distracted, but I was able to get her to become more engaged by asking her a lot of questions. A second interview with the hiring managers was then quickly scheduled afterwards for the next day. The second interview was a 1-hour video call with 2 hiring managers/senior engineers. One manager kept asking questions/grilling me on the smallest details of projects I was involved with in the past and even said that he liked asking these questions and must have thrown me off/made me feel flustered. Whenever, I asked questions, they would never really answer them and would just go on and on in circles without actually answering the questions directly or they would turn the question back onto me, asking me what I think instead. I also asked about the training process for a new hire in this position and one manager was like “Training process?... I don’t think there’s a training process.” Afterwards they told me that the next steps would probably be another longer interview, but I was never contacted and never heard back from them or the company again and the job was reposted.
