      D1C Process Engineer Interview

      9 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intel Corporation in Oct 2015

      Interview

I got an email through an on-campus career portal to a networking session. I also attended their talk and gave my resume to the recruiter. I had an interview with the recruiter and was called for an onsite interview at Portland (OR). It was a whole day interview (So get a good night's sleep). Most of the managers were very nice, however there was one manager who started our conversation with "None of your degrees or experience matters". He was condescending from the beginning of the interview. Remember when interviewing you are also seeing if you would like to work in the company and environment.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The position requires a lot of troubleshooting so they ask a lot of questions on scenarios where you solved problems with your equipment and maintenance of the instruments.

      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Hillsboro, OR) in Nov 2015

      Interview

I went to an career fair and met people from Intel. Handed in my resume and got an interview the second day. The interview took an hour. Three days later, I got an email inviting me for an on-site interview at Hillsboro, OR. As it was mentioned in others' comments about their experiences, the on-site interview took a whole day, from 8:30am to 4:30pm in my case. I got the agenda from the recruiter who had been contacting me through email so I was prepared for it. I met 8 people in total and 6 of them were interviewers, and about 1h each interview. Had lunch with 2 process engineers who gave me lots of information about what to expect about this job. I got the results after 18 days through email saying that I was not a good fit for the position.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All the technical questions were about my research and all the behavioral questions were very standard: If I have had an difficult college and how I deal with it. If I have had difficult during my research or work and how I deal with it.

      D1C Process Engineer Interview

      8 Jan 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Hillsboro, OR
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Hillsboro, OR) in Oct 2015

      Interview

My CV was shortlisted during the campus career fair and was called for a 45min interview the very next day..was mostly behavioral questions with some technical questions.....Withing 5 days, I received an invite for onsite interview at Hillsboro, OR ....The interview at Intel Corp, started at 8am and lasted till 5pm with 6-7 1:1 interviews, 1hr PhD thesis presentation, and 2hr lunch. The entire interview process took place at the cafe (except presentation which was in conference room). All the interviewers were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable....began by explaining me the work scenario and the responsibilities of a process engineer...then some technical questions related to your thesis (please know your thesis and whatever u have written in your CV very well) and obviously some behavioral questions. It was more like a conversation rather than a grilling interview....hence, overall a very good experience....One a side note, the 2hr duration during lunch is very important as well....Its your opportunity to ask questions and they assess your interest in the job and the company....So be prepared with some questions at least.....After my interview, I was anxious to hear back....I hadn't heard back anything for 4 weeks after which I called them...I was asked to be patient as the hiring manager was out of country....Ultimately, received an offer about 7.5 weeks after my interview...So, my advise to all is be patient..they will definitely let u know their decision either way....plz don't pester them with emails or calls.
