I applied through other source. I interviewed at Innersense Organic Beauty
Interview
A phone call with very detailed oriented questions. “Tell me about a time when” type of questions. This can be challenging because the interviewer (ceo) herself will continue to ask you to be more and more specific then you feel you can actually be. Also at the end of the phone screen the last question they’ll ask is about your horoscope sign, which seems very unprofessional and personal for a company. Not everyone believe in horoscopes. It seems like an opportunity to judge you based off whether you’re a Leo or a Pisces or a Sag, etc. it’s silly for a company to ask these kinds of questions when you should be wondering if the candidate you’re hiring is responsible and professional.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Innersense Organic Beauty (Concord, CA) in Feb 2024
Interview
Overall the interview process was pleasant. The recruiter reached out first to arrange the sessions. The first interview was with the Founder who asked a series of behavioral questions. The second interview was with the Hiring Manager, who asked about the background experience and the technical questions.

Interview
This interview was maybe a year and a half ago. I was super excited to get the interview because I loved Innersense. Speaking with Joanne was really refreshing, and I felt comfortable with her immediately. I had a follow up interview with another woman who asked me three back to back “yes/no” questions, left me no room to elaborate, cut me off and spent 15 minutes talking at me, telling me I wouldn’t be able to do the job. She made me feel small. Her concern was that I didn’t have any b2b sales experience which was so silly because I had plenty of experience in business development and sales. I was super bummed, it hurt my confidence a little, but shortly after something better turned up. I was able to join the tech industry after 13 years in the beauty industry— something I had no experience in.
