Here's a breakdown of my experience:
Application and Screening: The process began with an online application, where I submitted my resume along with my project details. I was quickly shortlisted for the interview after receiving a call from the HR team. They briefly discussed my background, experience, and the role requirements before scheduling the technical round.
Technical Round 1 (Online Assessment): The first round consisted of an online technical assessment that included multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and coding problems. The questions were primarily focused on Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD, and shell scripting. There were some questions on Python as well, which tested my knowledge of scripting for automation and configuration management.
Technical Round 2 (Virtual Interview): In this round, I had a one-on-one interview with a senior DevOps engineer. They asked detailed questions about cloud computing, AWS services (like EC2, IAM, S3, and VPC), and DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. The interviewer was particularly interested in my hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform). They also asked a few situational questions where I had to explain how I would handle certain DevOps challenges, such as scaling applications, managing server configurations, or automating deployments.
System Design Round: A system design interview was also part of the process. The interviewer asked me to design a scalable and highly available infrastructure for a web application using AWS services. I had to demonstrate my knowledge of concepts like load balancing, auto-scaling, and monitoring, and propose best practices for security and disaster recovery.
Managerial Round: The managerial round focused on my past experience, problem-solving skills, and team collaboration. The manager asked me about my previous projects, the challenges I faced, and how I contributed to resolving them. They also wanted to know about my approach to learning new technologies and adapting to changes in the tech landscape. They were keen to assess my communication skills and my ability to work in cross-functional teams.
HR Round: The final round was with the HR, where they discussed my salary expectations, reasons for seeking a new role, and the work culture at Infosys. They also asked about my willingness to relocate and my long-term career goals. It was a friendly discussion, and they provided an overview of the company’s values and employee benefits.
