Talked to a friendly recruiter last Friday and he scheduled me for an in person interview the following Monday on Campus. Showed up early, dressed for success. After having another chat with the recruiter on campus, the two interviewers I was scheduled with started our meeting a little late. I felt that the interview as a whole went very well and that the rapport I had with both interviewers was great but apparently because I am fielding offers for various other software roles I wasn't interested enough "in a post-sales role", even though I explicitly stated the role sounded very fun and used my customer service experience in a way that no other job I had interviewed at did. I especially feel like if they had those concerns they could have addressed them explicitly during the interview, rather than acting like my questions about their corporate culture showed interest in the company when they obviously felt a different way. I feel like the senior woman who was interviewing me did not take kindly to my criticism of the original job description because it was very different from the job description the recruiter used to sell me on the posting and she used this bias in her decision making. If I show up to an interview early, dressed well, and then have great rapport during out meeting, that should show plenty enough interest in the position to at least warrant you asking me twice about my interest if its really in question. Seems unprofessional considering they told me upfront about asking questions multiple times and having multiple people asking the same question.
