      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IBM (Raleigh, NC) in Jan 2009

      Interview

The interviewer was very professional and nice. However, it is important to be well prepared for this interview. One question asked was to show the process of bringing a new technology to market. There were some basic questions and some behavioral based questions. If accepted to round two, the next interview is a case-based interview.

Pick a technology and guide me through the process of brining this technology to market.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at IBM (Hursley, England) in Feb 2012

      Interview

Applied to the Extreme Blue internship online after a chat with a company representative at a careers fair. The application consisted of filling in an IBM CV form which had various wordy questions on adaptability, teamwork, communication, achievements, problem solving, technical skills etc. This was in November. In January I was invited to do the IPAT online test which consisted of logic/math questions that have to be answered quite quickly. I would rate it as a difficult test compared to what other companies have in their online tests. I passed that and was invited to an Assessment Day down in Hursley (all expenses paid) together with about 12 other people. We had to do a shorter (and easier) version of the IPAT test to make sure that we didn't cheat in the original. Then there was a group task that involved making sense of bits of information that were given to us and solving a riddle. After that we took a Software Engineering Aptitude Test, which was essentially another logic test (don't worry if your programming skills are rusty or non-existent, you'll do fine if you like logic/math). We also had a site tour, which was really interesting. Generally I had a great day and very enjoyable experience at IBM. Two days later they sent me an email saying that I had passed the first stage assessment day but that does not necessarily mean that I will be invited to the second stage (which apparently consists of a one to one interview) due to the fact that they may have already filled all the available places for the internship. Haven't heard from them since.
