Well this position came through a third party hiring firm and then there was 30-45 min interview where the hiring manager was fine with my background but was concerned that I was already at a higher level but I did give a solid justification about how I still would be inclined. Then there was a next round of 2 hour hands on test which was ridiculous because it’s tough to be on a remote machine and the fun part was even before I could finish in time the manager started discussing how my design could be wrong !! Still I did debate that how the shortcut method he was expecting isn’t the best practice as myself being a Certified Developer in that field I do know best practices and he agreed to what I was saying. Anyways then there was last round of 30-40 min call where team was involved and it went well. Now here comes the fun part - after the last round they thought I was over qualified and said NO to me. This clearly shows their indecisiveness in hiring and if they weren’t sure about me then why waste my 4 hrs in all that process ?? Well when you hire someone you always get a judgement by reading
the resume or by talking to them and clearly see if this guy is over or under qualified.
Well all those who want to try there good luck to you and yes I have noticed that there is a high emp turnover there too as that position comes out every now and then. Good luck to the team there and please be sure what kind of candidate you need so that you can stop wasting time of candidates !
