I went through two interview rounds with Humana without issue, but the final round turned into a complete mess. Over the course of two weeks, the final interview was scheduled and then canceled at the last minute multiple times — sometimes as little as an hour before the meeting. The director would only offer a single narrow time slot each time, often with less than 24 hours’ notice, and then fail to show up or cancel at the last minute with vague excuses like “something important came up,” “he’s off today,” or “he had to go somewhere.”
I rearranged my personal and professional schedule repeatedly to accommodate these requests. On one occasion, I even agreed to take the call from an airport while traveling with my family — the director never joined. Another time, I cleared my afternoon for a 4 PM interview, only to have it canceled at 3:30 with no explanation.
After asking multiple times for transparency — whether they still intended to move forward or not — the recruiter simply stopped responding to emails and calls entirely. There was no formal rejection, no feedback, nothing. I was essentially ghosted at the final stage after investing significant time and effort.
This level of disorganization and disregard for a candidate’s time is completely unprofessional. If a company decides not to move forward, the least they can do is communicate it respectfully. Humana failed to do even that.
