I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Formic (Dallas, TX) in Oct 2025
Interview
The process was extensive and multi-staged, requiring a considerable time investment from the candidate. I progressed through each round, performing well and receiving positive signals at every step along the way. By all indications, I was a strong fit, until the final interview with the Head of Robotics Field Service. The moment the call began, something had visibly shifted. The conversation was remarkably brief, with virtually no effort to explore my technical background or the professional experience I had already demonstrated across prior rounds. It was as though the decision had been made in the first few seconds, before I had the opportunity to say much of anything at all.
It raises an uncomfortable question about what exactly informed that snap judgment, given that nothing in my performance throughout the process could have warranted it. For a company still working to prove itself in a competitive market, one would hope that hiring decisions are driven by qualifications and merit. Candidates invest significant time and good faith in these processes, the least they deserve is an interviewer who extends them the same.

Question 1
Just tell me about yourself (while the guy was visbly not even paying attention).
