I've applied here more times than I can count. My background includes extensive experience in law enforcement, corrections, public safety, UAV/drones as well as working for the largest public safety software company in the world. On top of that, I have over 10 years of product management expertise. Frankly, there’s no valid reason I shouldn't be landing interviews here. Yet, I can't get a single recruiter to acknowledge an email. I can't get the hiring manager to even entertain a conversation.
Only once have I been able to get someone who would have been a peer to talk to me. Otherwise my 20-something attempts at connecting with recruiters, the hiring manager, and other product people here have all gone unanswered. While the conversation with this person was pleasant, they revealed some interesting context to the company.
Cliques: not surprising seeing as no one, save for one, has responded to my messages about open opportunities.
Travel: apparently heavy travel for virtually every position with very little work life balance.
Communication: this individual stated that they were not informed when leadership decided to open a new job which would have been reporting to this person. They only found out after numerous people had texted them to ask if they had been termed.
Many of their employees do not have any public safety background and the fact that applicants like myself that do have that experience are unable to get through to initial screens tells me the product is being managed by one thing only: ego.
