      Product Designer Interview

      26 Mar 2024
      Anonymous employee

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Flexport (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Overall a very buttoned up process. We started with a hiring manager call, then a panel with various stages (intro to the company, portfolio presentation, 1:1's with teammates), and concluding with a sync with their recruiter.

      Question 1

Very interested in research in how it relates to my design process.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Flexport in Apr 2022

      Interview

Had a 45 min call with one of the designers (not on the hiring team) for first round. And then I got a pass from HR for the next round which included a design challenge, and a 2 hr virtual onsite interview. I am then sent an email less than 2 days before the interview (literally at 10:24PM) "The team had a chance to sync and it seems we’re not the right fit for your skills at this time. We are proceeding with other candidates at this time will not be proceeding with the virtual onsite this week....we are predominantly looking to hire Senior designers." This is has really left me a terrible taste for this company and hiring standards. In both my resume and during my first interview and call with HR, I have told them I may not be the most experienced. So why waste 3 weeks fo my time (including a weekend to do a design challenge) only to be told I'm cut. Why waste 3 weeks of my time?

      Product Designer Interview

      29 Jul 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Flexport

      Interview

I applied via Flexport's website and was contacted by a recruiter there. We set up a time to chat, but he didn't show on time. Ten minutes into the agreed meeting time, he emails and asks to reschedule—all good, stuff happens. I log on at our rescheduled time and...no show. I emailed him and he didn't reply. I find this very disrespectful. As applicants, we understand that recruiters are wading through candidates. However, if you've reached out to us and we've prepared and researched to interview, then I think a response is common courtesy at minimum.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Nothing was asked, because I was ghosted twice.
