      Robotics Engineer Interview

      18 Aug 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Singapore
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Flexiv (Singapore) in Jul 2022

      Interview

After applying online, a week later I was asked to join a Microsoft Teams video call with the hiring manager. In total the video call lasted about an hour, and covered some simple technical questions. A day later I was informed via email that I had been put through to the next round. The second video call included three current Flexiv engineers and the CTO. Being interviewed by four people was intimidating though, and at the start I was a bit nervous. The questions they asked were technical in nature, and it was obvious they knew what they were looking for. In all, this stage lasted around four hours, and I felt that I made a good impression. If I am being honest though, a four-hour interview is too long in my opinion and I was exhausted at the end of it. Three days later I again received an email scheduling a video call, but only with the CTO this time. During the call the CTO explained that he was impressed with my CV and experience but they were looking for someone with more knowledge of RRT planning algorithms. This did come up in the previous interview and I gave a couple of vague answers which they must have picked up on. The CTO thanked me for taking the time and effort to go through such a long interview process, and assured me they would keep my info on file so that if a vacancy appeared they could contact me directly. To cut a long story short, I didn’t get the job and I think the interview process could have been shorter. If they do end up offering me a similar job, I will take it.

      Question 1

There were loads of questions, but they were mostly focused on: Impedance control RTPS protocol ROS & RTPS RRT & PRM
