Submitted CV, cover letter and short sample article. Shortlisted for interview stage which was done online with a panel of three journalists for 45 minutes. Was asked questions about the sample article I submitted (why I thought it would be relevant for an FT audience, who else I could have spoken to), the type of topics and articles I had read about recently and lots about what ideas I had to pitch to the FT.
