I applied through my univ's career website on January. Never heard back until March. The HR person arranged 2 phone interviews with a department manager and an actuarial manager. The first interviewer was an attorney and had no idea about the actuarial practice. However, both were very nice. I asked many good questions. Waited 1.5 months (I followed up and sent thank you notes -- no reply at all), finally got scheduled for the final round interview on April. There were 3 1:1 interviews with a senior manager, an actuarial manager, and a senior partner. I thought my first 2 interviews went very well. They didn't asked many questions.. just want to know about my background and interests. The last interview was unique, since the senior partner only asked how my day was and stared at me! I tried to break the ice by asking questions and get the conversation going. He didn't even have my resume, but he mentioned some stuffs about my experiences.
The HR person said she will let me know the decision in 3 weeks. Almost a month now.. and still waiting.
I also recently found out that a senior of mine (a master degree student) also interviewed for the exact same position and still haven't gotten any news. Kinda surprise to know that I'm competing against a graduate student for an entry level position.
