      Ruby On Rails Engineer Interview

      24 Mar 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Mateo, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Doximity (San Mateo, CA) in Mar 2012

      Interview

The recruiter told me they were interested in interviewing me and wanted to talk. I got a call scheduled with one of their technical principals. He didn't call. I contacted back and rescheduled, he said he had a family emergency. The next time he called on time and talked a lot about the company, what kind of team they have and technologies they use. I didn't have a chance to say more then a few sentences, only asked some questions. He seemed to be very enthusiastic of what they build and I wrote down over a page of what he told about. He said that they avoided hiring people with big egos and it sounded appealing to me. I asked him how they determine if somebody had a big ego, and he said that they check references and also listen if this person brags a lot. In the end he said that their technical team would contact me to schedule the technical screenings. I never heard back from neither him, nor his engineering team. In the course of the conversation, he mentioned a problem with his family member's health, and I recalled seeing information that might've been helpful. I sent him the link. I didn't try to buy anything sending this information, but that was really rude silently dropping me like that after I tried to help. I also saw their job reposted, what a joke.
