The process I experienced was as follows: there was a twenty minute screening interview by a company recruiter. The interview was a discussion with some pointed questions about specific areas and types of experience. The start of the interview was a very cordial introduction to the company and position. This call was followed by a similar style of screening interview by the hiring manager. Again in this interview there were a mix of tell me about yourself and tell me about a time when questions. The interviewer was sharp in questioning but relaxed in manner and language - exactly the vibe you might expect for senior management in San Diego.
