The interview process was really easy and straightforward. It was done over the phone and didn’t take long at all—probably around 10-15 minutes. They asked basic questions about my availability, any certifications I had (like CPR or lifeguard training), and a few situational questions, like how I would handle emergencies or deal with rule enforcement. The vibe was super relaxed, and overall, it was a smooth process.
The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Denver Parks and Recreation (Denver, CO) in Jan 2009
Interview
The process was simple. You apply online and sign up for the lifeguard classes that they offer. You pay a $125 fee for the class and in return get your CPR, First and lifeguard qualifications. From there it really depends if they have room for another lifeguard or not. Usually there is enough turn over that there is room. Getting hired was easy but the classes took a week and some of them were all day, but not everyday.
