Went to a networking event that Deloitte was hosting on my campus, was encouraged to apply for the internship through my school's career services website. I was notified about a week later that I had been selected for the first round of interviews. They held a "Pre-Interview Reception" the night before our interview that allowed us to meet with the associates that would interviewing us. This also aloud us to see some of the people we were competing with because everyone had a name tag with the position they were applying for. This event is an excellent opportunity to really set your self apart from your competition. It would be a huge mistake for you to miss or underestimate this event, I would consider it to be another round of interviews, and very beneficial towards your comfort level in your official interview. The following day I had two half-hour interviews with separate ERS Managers, one from the federal practice and one from commercial. They had both graduated from my school, so it was easy to find common ground (i.e. we spoke about classes I was enrolled in and the different professors). Both interviews were very lade back, they started out by telling me about themselves. Next, they looked over my resume asked me a few questions about it and gave me an opportunity to highlight any of my experience that I wanted to. After reviewing my resume, I was asked a few general behavioral questions, none of them being too challenging, see below for exact questions. My recruiter told me they would be in touch in the next two weeks if I had made it to the next round of interviews. I sent follow up emails to both of the managers who interviewed me, as well as one other manager I spoke extensively with at the reception, I did not hear back from any of them but am not offended - these people are extremely busy. Three days after my interview, I received an email congratulating me for being invited to the 2nd round of interviews. I will be traveling to DC and touring there Rosslyn office, I have two more half-hour interviews scheduled along with a few other events. I look forward to this opportunity and I am optimistic about the opportunity of working for this great firm.
Overall, I could not have asked for anything more out of this recruiting experience. They really put in the extra effort to make you feel comfortable, which is why they are able to recruit the best talent. Everyone I have met with throughout this experience has been very friendly, and at no point did I ever feel intimidated by any of them. They all seemed like they genuinely wanted to help you out as much as possible, whether that be with Deloitte, or giving you general career advice.
