A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about a corporate opening with Davita. We did a phone screening where she told me about the role and asked me some questions. She said the company was looking to fill the role ASAP and said there would be 2 rounds of interviews. Our conversation went well and I was referred to the hiring manager for a first interview. First red flag -- the first date they offered for an interview was two weeks out. [Bonus red flag -- the recruiter made a point to let me know that Davita pays below market value.]
I had the interview with the hiring manager. Things went well until the end, where she said in addition to the second round interview, there would also be a case study and a showcase. Second red flag. They told me I could expect to hear back in two weeks, which seems like a long time given that there are THREE additional rounds in the process. This is a tactic companies use to string candidates through a lengthy interview process and offer a lower salary at the end.
I followed up with the recruiter after the interview and told her that the process she outlined didn't match with what the hiring manager said, and she shrugged it off. Clearly the hiring manager and recruiter aren't on the same page. Third red flag.
In the two weeks I was waiting to hear back, I saw that the job was re-posted to LinkedIn. Fourth red flag. It appears these people are holding out for a "unicorn" candidate and are in fact, not looking to fill the role ASAP as was previously stated. I never heard back from them either.
TLDR: Take your talents elsewhere. Davita did a "bait and switch" by saying they were looking to fill the role ASAP and did not disclose upfront that this early career role would require FOUR rounds of interviews (five if you count the screening call) to work at a Fortune 500 company that self-admittedly pays below market value. They also ghosted me.
