Contacted by a recruiter for a 30 minute call. No call at scheduled time. I emailed the recruiter and they replied back after a while that they lost their internet connection. No problem. Rescheduled. Again, no call. Received another email “sorry my conference call ran over”. Should have taken the hint after being stood up twice in one day but agreed to schedule the call a third time. Two minutes into the call the recruiter said she was transitioning into another role but wanted to have a discussion with me. However she had just had a minute to read my resume and determined I wasn’t a match. The call lasted 3 minutes and I immediately received the rejection form email after the call ended.
Hopefully this isn’t a typical experience at this company but it’s very inconsiderate to not keep an appointment for a call. I spent considerable time prepping for the conversation and broke away from my work and office to have the phone calls. And if the recruiter is going to make a call on whether or not they think there could be a fit they should at least have the courtesy to read the resume before scheduling a call with the candidate and not waste valuable time.
