      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Capgemini (Airoli) in Feb 2026

      Interview

I would like to share my recent interview experience with Capgemini India for the Operations TMO position at their Airoli location. I had successfully cleared two virtual rounds and was informed by HR that the final in-person round would be a formality, primarily intended for a face-to-face interaction. Based on this understanding, I made the necessary personal arrangements and attended the interview at the office. However, the final round turned out to be a detailed discussion lasting around 30–45 minutes, where I was again assessed on technical aspects that had already been covered in earlier rounds. While the interaction initially progressed well, the tone shifted when I was asked about my personal background. Upon sharing that I have a young baby, I experienced a noticeable change in the interviewer’s approach. I was repeatedly questioned about my ability to manage work responsibilities alongside childcare, despite clearly explaining that I have a strong support system in place, including full-time caregiving assistance and family support. As a professional with over seven years of experience, I found this line of questioning disheartening. My capability and commitment to my role should ideally be assessed based on my skills, experience, and preparedness—not assumptions about my personal life. I had communicated transparently about my availability and even proposed a reasonable joining timeline, ensuring a smooth transition both personally and professionally. Organizations today actively promote inclusivity, women empowerment, and return-to-work initiatives. However, experiences like this highlight a gap between stated values and actual practices. It is important that interview processes remain unbiased and focus on merit, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates, irrespective of their personal circumstances. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to help improve the candidate experience and reinforce a more inclusive and equitable hiring approach.
