      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      21 Jul 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Box in Jun 2015

      Interview

Applied online. First interview was a "video interview". I'd never heard of that before but basically had to record myself answering questions. There were five questions which you can find from an earlier interview review on Glassdoor. Exact same questions. The experience was somewhat fun and they want you to relax and be yourself. Wouldn't be surprised if more companies start using this method for first-round screens for lower level positions. I got a second round which was a Skype interview with a recruiter. They told me to have a pen and paper ready because it was going to be a problem-solving interview. I was under the impression that the exercise would be scenario-type questions related to the role, and not the "Google-style, how many tennis balls fit in a bus" kind of question. On the contrary, it ended up being a brain teaser that didn't really have anything to do with the role and didn't prove much about a person's problem solving abilities. Ended up feeling a lot like the "Google style tennis ball" question. (Even though Google does not do that anymore). I would've felt a lot more valued as a candidate if the questions they asked were relevant to the role. After that I waited a while to hear back only to find out my background wasn't quite a good match, even though initially they told me they were impressed with my background.

      Question 1

You are in a room blindfolded. There are three coins in front of you, two are heads, two are tails. You need to separate them into two separate piles so that there is an equal number of heads in each pile.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Box (Redwood City, CA) in Feb 2017

      Interview

I applied online. The recruiter contacted me to schedule a phone screen. The phone screen was very casual, he did not really ask me about my background or anything related to the position. I received an email (calendar invite) next day for scheduling phone interview with the manager. I picked a few time slots and submitted my request. I never received a confirmation so I followed up with the recruiter and he never wrote me back. I would not want to work for a company that treats candidate this way. I felt very insulted. This company really need to improve recruiting process and provide professional training to rude and immature recruiters.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Box (London, England) in Aug 2016

      Interview

It was pleasant and well structured in the beginning but then got completely dissolved. Had couple of calls and feedback in between but no follow up after even though there was meant to be a third round. It would have been helpful if they provided a constructive feedback after.
