I applied to the position at the urging of my supervisor. Once I applied, I emailed the hiring manager to make sure he was aware that I was interested. The next day I was contacted by a recruiter who asked me a few preliminary questions, and then scheduled me for an interview. I went to the interview at 9 am; it lasted approximately 30 minutes. About 12 pm that same day the recruiter called me to offer me the position.
