      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sheffield, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Balance Xperia (Sheffield, England)

      Interview

The first interview was office based however they were not transparent about what the second interview would consist of. It involved leaving the office and marketing for a charity in a shopping mall.

      Graduate Management Trainee Interview

      28 Aug 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Balance Xperia in Jan 2018

      Interview

I felt completely mislead by this applicant day. The job was advertised as a "Graduate Management Trainee Programme" earning a salary of £20,000, but when following the team around for the day and being asked ridiculous questions, I realised it was in fact purely harassing people on the street to sign up for a charity on a strict "commission only" basis. I practically got through a whole notebook writing my 2000 goals in life and had to pay my own train fare as we trekked to a different location to set up the "campaign". This experience was incredibly misleading.

      Graduate Management Trainee Interview

      22 Feb 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Sheffield, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Balance Xperia (Sheffield, England) in Dec 2017

      Interview

The job was falsely advertised to be a management training scheme, when it is actually a self-employed job entirely commission-based standing outside shops trying to sell charity subscriptions to the general public, which I assume is what they actually meant when the interviewer stated that "you will meet some of our clients as part of a work-trial for one day". The work-trial day is the most unprofessional I've ever gone through. First of all, they drive you to another city trying to impress you with pointless jargon. Next, they expect you to watch them harass members of the public using childish selling methods for the entire day, expecting you to take notes of this. When you explain that you have been mislead about the job offer they tell you to go home yourself because they have to stay and complete their selling. All of their different job adverts with different titles and descriptions are the same job that nobody would apply for if they had truthfully advertised it.
