      Product Owner Interview

      8 Mar 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BT Group in Nov 2021

      Interview

I found the whole process unprofessional and disorganised. Initially I interviewed for a PO role however they wanted someone with more experience which was apparent during the call and completely understandable. However during the interview I could tell it wasn’t going well because I could actually see and hear the two interviewers messaging each other over teams and laughing at the messages. I should have said something but felt it was unprofessional and decided I didn’t want to work with these people anyway so left it. A few days later the internal recruiter contacted me about a follow up with the head of, I found it surprising given how bad the interview went. I asked for more details and if there was anything to prepare as I had just been told he wanted to speak to me. Following that he set me a small task to do. During the interview he explained that he wanted to use my experience to create a new role to work with POs. The call was positive and I felt excited about the potential role. I didn’t hear from them after a week so I chased and was told they planned to extend an offer. A week later still nothing so I chased again and was given a similar response. After that I didn’t hear from them and given my experience I didn’t want to take the job. They couldn’t even give me the courtesy of a response after telling me they were going to offer me a job.
