It was a pretty simple process. I was asked basic questions regarding my job history, knowledge and what I was looking for. I was able to set up it up myself online.
I applied online. I interviewed at BCD Meetings & Events (Virginia City, VA) in Jan 2026
Interview
I had a terrible experience interviewing with BCD. The recruiter first contacted me, assuring me I was a great fit for the role and that the process would only involve two interviews. He specifically mentioned that my background matched the job description very well. After speaking with him, he moved me forward and scheduled another interview.
The second interview went well, and I was informed that I had one more interview. I completed that interview and felt confident in my performance. However, after that, the recruiter went completely silent. I didn’t hear anything for about a month.
Then, out of nowhere, I received an email stating that I had to do yet another interview. At that point, I realized that the final interview I had been told about was not final. I was informed that there had been a restructure within the company and that I needed to interview again with the Operations Manager, even though I had already interviewed with her and had been told I did very well.
The scheduling process was also frustrating. There was back-and-forth trying to find a date that worked because the Operations Manager was not consistently replying. Eventually, I completed the additional interview, and once again, I performed exceptionally well. Even during that interview, the Operations Manager praised my performance and expressed her admiration for my background.
In total, I had four interviews, and they were extremely repetitive. The questions from one round to the next were virtually identical. Despite already demonstrating that my experience was an exact match for the role, I was asked the same things repeatedly. A week later, I received an email stating that I was not selected, only to then see the job posted again on LinkedIn.
The entire process felt disorganized, misleading, and disrespectful of my time. If I was not the right candidate, that decision should have been made much earlier rather than dragging me through four rounds of repetitive interviews with poor communication in between.
