TLDR: Easy interview, lowball offer.
Disclaimer: Everything is my and only experience.
I was contacted by a recruiter looking for a Senior SW Eng to join the company. The company looked interesting, so I decided to give it a chance.
The full process consisted of two interview rounds - the first interview for one hour with one engineer and the second round for two hours with managers. Both interviews were very technical but not hard.
The technical questions were on the LC Easy/(Low med) level. Still, they required a good understanding of memory management/pointers in C, memory allocation, and possible memory corruption (one of the questions was to debug).
The second interview was about the same but required an understanding of C++, like CTors/DTors, overloading/overriding, virtual/abstract classes, and some memory allocation questions. It should be easy for anyone with 2-3 years of C/C++ experience.
The offer was much below the discussed expectations range, with a very low base pay (for senior candidates with 10+ YOE). It was not even competitive with my current compensation. A big part of the offer (~40%) was RSU, their main selling point - stock performance during the last years.
Side note: the offer might be good for people who need to change jobs (or find one) in the current market.
The interviewers and recruiters were nice and pleasant to talk to, and I enjoyed the process, but the offer came as a surprise to me, especially after the recruiter mentioned that they "hire the best of the best".
