I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at AlixPartners (Dallas, TX) in Dec 2020
Interview
What makes this interview process stand out is the rigorous on-line cognitive and personality assessments. Other than that, a very conversational interview format with easy to get along leaders in HR and in the business. This was an interview for a shared service support team, not grueling consultancy work.

Question 1
The SHL TalentCenter assessment I was asked to complete was long and rigorous, and I was not happy to take it since I believe it undermines the opinion of the actual live interviewers. However, after investing a few hours to complete all tests, I was happy because of the feedback in the end.
Get-to-know chat, Assessment Test (online / analytical), Interview with Team Phycologists, Multiple Case Interviews (mostly at peer or partner level), then final Partner interview with the practice head. In general, rather structured, but can stretch out quite long
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Quite many questions probing into PM approach and technical capability. For director level, not much discussion for business development
It was a 6 month long process with around 10 different interactions including 3 full assessments. This was fully virtual during 2021, now back to hybrid. All interviewers are very cordial, but the assessments are tough and the bar is very high.

Question 1
What challenges would you expect moving from industry into consulting?
I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at AlixPartners (Manchester, England)
Interview
Logistics excellent.
However the interviews were unstructured and felt at each stage that any notes or hand off between interviewers were non existent.
No alignment in role or clarity throughout the process.
